What did you want to be when you were a kid?

I changed my mind practically every day as a kid about what I wanted to be.

What were your interests as a kid?

I loved to read, I played all sorts of sports with the other kids in the neighborhood and I was really interested in butterflies.

Why do you like your job?

I like that I've had to learn so much science in order to teach it.  I remember when  I first used a computer-based microscope to let my class see what's inside a gall.  It was a "wow!" moment. There are more of those moments in science than in any other subject. 

Message: Keep your eyes and ears open!  Ask questions!  Wonder about things!  It's an amazing world if you take the time to really look at it.
